Fundraising Singing Marathon
Staff at The White Horse at Brancaster Staithe have been ‘in fundraising mode’ recently as they sang to raise funds for their chosen charity Macmillan Cancer Support with a mammoth carol singing event held in the public bar. The staff arranged a gigantic tombola from donated prizes and this along with a bar full of carol singers nearly raised the roof with their hearty singing.
The amount raised was £1,450.00 and a cheque for this amount was presented to Luke Wheeler, Macmillan Cancer Support Fundraising manager, on Thursday 28 January at 3 pm at The White Horse.
Luke Wheeler, said, ‘I have been really excited to hear about the amazing fundraising efforts of everyone at the White Horse in Brancaster Staithe. The work we do is entirely impossible without the generosity, ingenuity and passion of people like the staff at The White Horse. Their support really will go a long way in helping to improve the lives of people affected by cancer”
James Nye, owner of The White Horse said, ‘ It was our pleasure to host this event, and we must say a big thank you to all suppliers and customers who so generously donated fabulous prizes to the tombola. It was a fun evening and we are delighted that all proceeds on the night are being donated to this very worthwhile charity. We are also donating an amount of £1,153 to Macmillan Cancer Support Hertfordshire raised at a similar event at our sister pub The Fox at Willian.’
